Babylon has its roots in the book of beginnings, Genesis. It is one of the earliest societies of mankind. Its path continues through the centuries and is found in the Book of Revelation at the demise of mankind’s societies. Babylon was founded by a man named, Nimrod (Genesis 10). Babylon is more than just a city in the Bible. It is a spirit. It is the spirit of Nimrod. It is a rebellion. It is a rebellion against all that is good, against YHWH Himself. It is self glory, a narcissistic elevation of one’s own worth. It is a spirit of enslavement. The spirit of Babylon is a desire to afflict others with the same corrupt practices and thoughts as has afflicted one’s own self. Not content to be corrupt alone, this spirit seeks to entice and enslave others who willingly submit to its seduction.
The word, “mighty,” in Genesis 10:8-9, can be translated from Hebrew as Lawless “tyrant.” Note some of the meanings from Strong’s Hebrew-Greek Dictionary regarding the word “before,” as in “before the Master.” Strongs says, “From the Hebrew, ‘paniym,’ the face (as the part that turns); against, anger, battle, forefront, impudent, untoward, upside down.” This seems to indicate something more than Nimrod being a skillful hunter of animals. Rather, it would portray him as blatantly obstinate against YHWH Himself. He waged battle against YHWH for the loyalty of men. He impudently stood in the face of YHWH. He rebelliously stood before YHWH with the same Luciferan lust for power that Lucifer had during the attempted Heavenly coup. The spirit of enslavement now had a human vehicle – It was Nimrod! He not only hunted animals, but he hunted also the loyalty of men! He hunted them and enslaved them and under the evil, seducing spirit to follow his pernicious ways. No wonder Peter preached, “Save yourselves from this untoward generation.” (Acts 2:39).
Nimrod wanted to build a tower to reach to heaven. Genesis 11:4 says, “And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.” Here we see a unified effort by the people of the world for a single purpose. This purpose is the problem. They desired to make a name for themselves and storm the gates of Heaven, but today it is the people of YHWH he will be storming. Their intents were pushed by the same spirit Satan exhibited at his expulsion from Heaven, and in the Garden of Eden with Eve. They desired to usurp the very authority of Yahweh. The city was named, Babel, which in Hebrew means, “to confuse.” The Babylonians preferred to use the meaning that was more acceptable to them, “gate of YHWH.” “Babel,” is the Hebrew form, and “Babylon,” is the Greek form. Their plan was thwarted when YHWH, with apparent use of his angels, confounded their languages. But, Satan, through Nimrod, continued this insidious enslavement of mankind, to do battle against YWHW. Just as Satan took angels, so Nimrod took men. {just as it will be for us today}
We go on through the centuries to the last days. The evil, seducing spirit of Nimrod and Babylon continues to run its course today. As we look at 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4, we see another individual. This one is called the “man of sin,” the “son of perdition,” and the “Anti-messiah.” This man will be the epitome of rebellion. His affronting acts will show forth the “before Elohim,” and the “stand in your face” attitude of Lucifer and Nimrod. His brazen boldness will cause him to sit in the temple “showing himself that he is YHWH.” (2 Thessalonians. 2:4). Capturing others into his wicked ways, we see according to Revelation 13, that he causes all to worship him, requiring them to take the mark of the beast, “Six, Six, Six.” The enslavement continues.
It is this same spirit of deceitfulness that will be found in the Harlot Church of Revelation 17. Here we find her drunk with the blood of the saints and prophets, Babylon: Ecclesiastical or Religious (Spiritual) Babylon; Political or Governmental Babylon; and Commercial or Economic Babylon. Throughout history all three of these portrayals of Babylon have reared its ugly head and manifested the spirit of seduction and deceit. They have denigrated YHWH and His Ekklesia {congregation}. They have stepped on biblical precepts and counsel, and sought to put humanism on the throne where YHWH Almighty only should reign. They have in effect built a tower of Babel, religiously, politically, and economically, and have bombarded the very gate of Heaven, seeking entrance to overthrow the Omnipotent Creator. They have placed more esteem upon the creation rather than the One Who created them. In effect, they have said as their predecessor Lucifer, “I will be like the Most High!” Furthermore, they have sought to enslave by seduction all who will follow them, hunting and entrapping people with religious compromise, political expediency, and financial dishonesty with debt laden snares. The enslavement continues – but not for much longer.
As Babylon’s influence is so powerful that Revelation 17:18 tells us, “And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.”
Rev. 17:11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
In the beginning YHWH set the ending, the seventh is of the eighth, It is the old new world order, with Satan and a Nimrod tyrant at the helm, The beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth. It is a return, and it will have all religions, under one umbrella.

It is so much more that just the religious entities, as Babylon was sorely smitten under the hand of Yahuah
There is no room for a quibble about the meaning of “Babylon”, for v. 19 expressly terms it “The beauty of the Chaldees’ excellency”. Isaiah, Jeremiah, and the Revelation each declare that Babylon shall be burned with fire. “And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees’ excellency shall be as when Yahuah overthrew Sodom and Gomorah” (Isa. 13:19). ”
The multitude of thy sorceries, and for the great abundance of thine enchantments, Babylon reappears in its ancient dual aspect, political and social, the first city of earth and also the leader of the worship and religion of the world powers. The site of old Babylon is known at the present day; it covers a wide extent of ground, and parts of it are inhabited, as for instance Hillah, where there are some five or six thousand people. When the long-talked-of Euphrates Valley Railway becomes a reality, Babylon will be one of the most important places on the line” (Col. VanSomeron – “The Great Unfolding”). This quotation supplies a brief but fairly comprehensive outline of our subject. The earliest mention of Babel in scripture is in connection with the name of him who first after the deluge attained to greatness in the earth – greatness apart from Elohim. Nimrod was the grandson of Ham, who called down upon him the curse of his father, Hoah. “The sons of Ham were Cush…and Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. He was a mighty hunter before Elohim , and the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, in the land of Shinar” (Gen. 10:7-10). Let the reader turn back to the previous chapter for our comments on Nimrod as a type of the Anti-messiah. “Thus mightiness in the earth and commencement of kingly rule are first mentioned in connection with one, the seat of whose power was Babylon and the land of Shinar. Nimrod – Nebuchadnezzar – Anti-messiah, are, as we shall see, the three great names connected with that region and with that city” (B.W. Newton: “Babylon; Its Revival and Final Destruction” – 1859).

What city is like unto this great city!” (Rev. 18:18). We know of nothing in either Scripture or secular history which shows that Babylon was burned in the past.
My thoughts
The religious sects is just one horn, the rise of Spiritual / physical once wounded in Genesis
Actually, the purpose of the tower was to provide a common religious center, just as we are seeing today, and just as we see today it’s builders are in open defiance of Yahuah’s commandments.
“Babylon” in the book of Revelation? Babylon, in brief, is the name that is used for the evil system of the end times that seeks to enforce a one-world government and a one-world religion. It is not an empire like the ancient Babylonian empire, but a system—an evil religious / economic / commercial / political system that will be centered in a great city (17:18; 18:10, 16, 18, 21). the name “Babylon” refers to both a city and a system of the last days. In Revelation 17 the religious side of end-time Babylon is in view, and the commercial side is seen in Revelation 18..
The first book of the Old Testament Scripture falls into two parts: primeval history (chapters 1-11); and patriarchal (12-50). The first part covers the Creation, Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, the Flood and the {“Tower of Babel”} and establishes the basic premise of an Elohim who acts in the history of his most problematic creation. The last three-quarters of Genesis, by contrast, Elohim was exhorting Abraham to leave his father’s house and country, Elohim offers him incalculable descendants and property. Abraham accepts, .
If the name “Babylon” is only symbolic for end-time, anti-elohim religion and commerce, then the literal great city which “reigns over the kings of the earth” It’s more than just Rome, .
Revelation 17:12, “And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast compare with John’s vision in Revelation 13? Bible prophecy can be understood by comparing Revelation with the Old Testament and the book of Daniel in particular. It is very important to understanding who is the major player in so much of the prophecy in Revelation. – It is so much more than just 7 church which are the whore’s daughters..
It’s not just the Vatican City, it is so much bigger, than just the pope and his physical dwelling, it is the very essence of Babylon, the world is going to reunite under one old world / new world order, Elohim set the end in the beginning of time.
It will be a form of anthropology, archaeology, linguistics, mythology, occultist sources, you see it is Satan’s ancient religion of Babylon and it still lives today as modern Roman Catholicism – the most powerful religious and secular force on the planet, is about to reunite with world rulers. It is more than just Rome, it will encompass the world, just as it tried in the beginning.
This eighth king is the one who goes into perdition-Rev. 17:11. He is the beast who is worshiped by all persons whose names are not written in the Lambs book of life.
The ten horns are ten kings who receive power for a short period of time with the beast-Rev. 17:12. They are one mind with the beast and give their power to serve him-Rev 17:13. These ten kings hate the “whore” and Elohim puts in their hearts to fulfill His will and bring about her fall-Rev. 17:16,17. Babylon, referred to as the “woman”, and that “great city” that reigned over the kings of the earth comes to her end-Rev.17:16-18.
Also, in the Old Testament, the fall of Babylon is accomplished by certain nations
Jeremiah 50:9 For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country: and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their arrows shall be as of a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain. 10 And Chaldea shall be a spoil: all that spoil her shall be satisfied, saith the Master.
Jeremiah 51:27 Set ye up a standard in the land, blow the trumpet among the nations, prepare the nations against her, call together against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashchenaz; appoint a captain against her; cause the horses to come up as the rough caterpillers. 28 Prepare against her the nations with the kings of the Medes, the captains thereof, and all the rulers thereof, and all the land of his dominion. 29 And the land shall tremble and sorrow: for every purpose of the Master shall be performed against Babylon, to make the land of Babylon a desolation without an inhabitant.
Here again, we see the parallel between Old Testament events and the events that they foreshadowed in the New Testament. Such parallel enabled those who heard the gospel proclaimed by the apostles to “search the scriptures daily, whether those things were so”. (Acts 17:11) At that time the scriptures that they searched were those of the Old Testament. Paul declared that he ministered, “saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come”-see Acts 26:22.
We are going to see a return of Babylon, that will stifle Rome, and grow way beyond that of Rome, Who could make war with him, It will be world ruling, and will make Hitler look like a walk in the park. I am talking about worship! it will all be about worship, Rev. 13

There are three prophecies all edging closer to fulfillment in these events. First, Turkey and Iran are becoming allies, opening the door for Turkey’s coming entry into the Muslim coalition of Ezekiel 38. As western powers have snubbed or offended Turkey, Iran and Syria have both become closer allies to this overwhelmingly Muslim NATO member. Turkey’s defection to the Muslim coalition is one of the few remaining pre-conditions for Ezekiel 38 to be fulfilled.
Second, we see the descendants of the ancient Medes coming back onto the world stage to fulfill the prophetic destiny that Isaiah and Jeremiah foretold for them. This tells us that the Kurds are not going to go away, but in fact will become a stronger force to be reckoned with in the Middle East.
Third, we’ll see that their destiny is to be Elohim’s agency for the never before fulfilled judgment against Babylon at the End of this Age.
Babylon was never destroyed in the way Isaiah and Jeremiah described when the Medes and Persians took the Kingdom in 538 BC. When Darius the Mede assumed the throne in Babylon , he did so without having fought a battle for the right. The Medo-Persian armies had snuck into the city by diverting the River Euphrates and crawling under its gates to capture the mighty fortress without throwing a spear or swinging a sword. And yet Jeremiah said that the Babylonian army would be completely destroyed, falling down slain, fatally wounded in the streets of Babylon (Jere. 51:3-4) and “her thick wall will be leveled, her high gates set on fire. The peoples exhaust themselves for nothing, the nations’ labor is only fuel for the flames.” (Jere. 51:58) The use of the plural for nations in this verse conveys the idea that multiple countries were involved in building the city, another clue that Jeremiah wasn’t talking about the Babylon of his time, but of a future one.

Speaking of Babylon’s destruction, Elohim had Isaiah say,
Listen, a noise on the mountains, like that of a great multitude! Listen, an uproar among the kingdoms, like nations massing together! Elohim Almighty is mustering an army for war. They come from faraway lands, from the ends of the heavens—Elohim and the weapons of his wrath—to destroy the whole country. Wail, for the day of Elohim is near; it will come like destruction from the Almighty. Because of this, all hands will go limp, every man’s heart will melt. Terror will seize them, pain and anguish will grip them; they will writhe like a woman in labor. They will look aghast at each other, their faces aflame. (Isaiah 13:4-8)
Doesn’t this sounds more like 21st century weaponry. I’m told that a neutron bomb will melt flesh right off the skeleton while the victim is still standing. Perhaps this is what Isaiah saw.
Never Again
Isaiah said that Babylon would never be inhabited again after being judged, and Jeremiah repeated the pledge seven more times. Yet Babylon has been inhabited and is today. There must be a future role for the Great City, and it must be a major one to merit six chapters of the Bible. Isaiah 13-14, Jeremiah 50-51 and Revelation 17-18 all speak of it. Isaiah 14 tells us why. It’s because the real King of Babylon is Satan himself.
Isaiah 13-14 is a 2 chapter oracle about the destruction of Babylon, some of which we’ve highlighted above. But Isaiah 14:4 says, “You will take up this taunt against the King of Babylon” and from there on things get personal. In verse 11 he says, “How you have fallen from Heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning” and then lists the five boasts that Lucifer made in his rebellion against Elohim. It’s one of only two glimpses the Bible offers into this mysterious event that many scholars believe preceded Adam’s creation. The other is in Ezekiel 28:12-19 where Lucifer is called the King of Tyre. Both end in his utter defeat.
There are more good reasons to believe that the Babylon spoken of in these prophecies is an End Times city in Iraq, not the USA, and that it will be destroyed by the Medes, or rather their modern counterparts the Kurds. The Medes are mentioned in Isaiah 13:17 & Jere. 51:11, 28 as being involved in a destruction of Babylon that’s never happened in history and will result in the eternal desolation of Satan’s headquarters on Earth.
Although many nations will be involved, only the Medes are mentioned by name, and both Isaiah and Jeremiah were speaking of them in regards to the city in modern Iraq. Referencing the time as “The Day of Elohim” Isaiah called Babylon “the jewel of kingdoms, the glory of the Chaldeans’ pride” (Isaiah 13:19) (The Chaldeans were the people of the southern regions who founded and controlled the Babylonian Empire. Some believe that Kuwait is the nation now occupying the land of the Chaldeans, and that this was the basis for Saddam Hussein’s claim to Kuwait in the invasion that prompted the first Gulf war.)
Jeremiah went even farther. He used two cryptograms (code words) to authenticate his description, also in the context of the End Times. There are several instances of Hebrew code writing in the old Testament. They typically substituted the last letter of the 22 letter alphabet for the first, the 21st for the 2nd, the 20th for the 3rd and so on.
Jeremiah’s two cryptograms can be found in Jere. 51:4 where Leb Kamai is code for Chaldea and in Jere. 51:41 where Sheshach is code for Babylon. I believe he did this to make it unmistakably clear that he was referring to and end times version of Biblical Babylon. How Satan will restore this now largely ceremonial city into the capitol of Earth at the end of the age is a matter of much speculation, some of it skeptical. For now what we know from Isaiah, Jeremiah, and John is that he will.
I can say that because some of the language John used in Rev. 17-18 is almost certainly taken from Isaiah and Jeremiah. In Isaiah 13:21-22 Babylon is called a haunt for jackals, owls, and hyenas, words that in Hebrew describe demons as well as unclean animals. Compare that with Rev. 18:2. With a mighty voice he shouted: “Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great! She has become a home for demons and a haunt for every evil spirit, a haunt for every unclean and detestable bird. Or how about Isaiah 47:7-9 where Elohim accused Babylon as saying “I am the eternal queen … and not a widow,” and said she would be destroyed in a moment, on a single day. Compare that with Rev. 18:7-8. In her heart she boasts, ‘I sit as queen; I am not a widow, and I will never mourn.’ Therefore in one day her plagues will overtake her.
Jeremiah called Babylon a gold cup in Elohim’s hand who made the whole Earth drunk. He said the nations drank her wine and went mad, and she would fall suddenly. (Jere. 51:7-8) Compare that with John’s words in Rev. 17:4 & 18:3. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries. For all the nations have drunk the maddening wine of her adulteries. All three of these prophets were describing the same place. While the US certainly deserves and may well receive the judgments described here, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and John were all describing the fall of Biblical Babylon.
Through the Kurdish involvement in the Iraqi War, the Medes have stepped out of history and onto the world stage once again, and another player in the End Times Scenario is taking its place. One day soon, the King of the Medes will again lead a vast army against Babylon, and this time her destruction will be complete, and Elohim’s words will be fulfilled. Can’t you almost hear the footsteps of the Messiah.
If the caliphate is restored, the present jihads worldwide will look like a time of peace compared to the wars that will be unleashed.”
